FAQ

Q ~ What should I expect during my first massage visit?

A ~  You can expect a relaxing and professional atmosphere. Filling out a client intake form to begin, helps make me aware of any contraindications. For example, if you've had a recent injury, eczema, a recent surgery, hypertension, etc. You can also print and fill it out prior to your visit and bring it along.

Q ~ How do I know if I need a swedish massage, deep tissue, or sports massage?

A ~ If this is your first massage, I would recommend going with a swedish. This massage helps promote circulation, increase range of motion, and is relaxing both mentally and physically. However, during any massage you can always speak up about pressure. You will never hurt feelings. This is your massage.

Q  ~ Is it ok to talk during a massage?

A ~ I always tell my client's if you want to talk during your whole massage that is ok, if you want to try to relax and maybe fall asleep, that is also ok. Once again this is your massage.

Q ~ I heard it was good to drink water after a massage, is this true?

A ~ Yes, this is true. It is actually good to drink water before receiving a massage as well bc water helps hydrate the muscles, and hydrated muscles loosen up a lot easier. Drinking water after a massage is beneficial bc it aids in the flushing of the toxins that get released during the manipulation of muscle tissue.

Q ~ How often should I get a massage?

A ~ After having a session, your therapist can talk with you about a plan. The average is typically once every 4 weeks, unless you are experiencing discomfort that is affecting your day to day activities or sleep. At that point more frequent visits on a short term basis would be recommended.

Q ~ What if I have an allergy?

A ~ Definitely let me know before a massage, this can also be included on your client intake form. Ii use Bon Vital Original massage lotion which has arnica (a homeopathic remedy used for muscle soreness), ivy (helps blood circulation as well as assisting in the removal of waste products from the body) and cucumber extracrs (helps with inflammation).
For those with allergies I also can use jojoba oil (this is the only oil that closely resembles human sebum-the oily substance that is naturally produced by our oil glands).

Q ~ What if i need to reschedule or cancel my appointment?

A ~ We require a 24 hour notice.
